Fabrics (kitenge and ankara), several colors

In the shop you can now find amazing fabrics from Africa, sold by the meter! You probably won't find such amazing, colorful and unique fabrics anywhere else in Finland.

The fabrics are 100% cotton and made in West Africa, Ghana, and some in Central Africa, Congo. In Ghana, the fabrics are called ankara and in Uganda, where Congolese-made fabrics are sold, they are called kitenge .

The fabrics are sourced locally in Uganda and from Unique African Textiles in Essen, Germany, which sources its materials from Ghana. Some of the fabrics are also purchased from AfricanFabs in Holland (where their product images are also sourced).

The fabrics initially have a waxy surface, which is a guarantee of authenticity, so to speak. The fabric softens when washed and it is best to wash it by hand in a cool, approximately 30C temperature due to the risk of shrinkage.

The fabric is sold in 1m pieces, with a width of approximately 1.15m (note this!) The price per meter is 20€ and you can choose as many meters as we have in stock.

Fabrics marked with glitter and gold are more valuable, so their price is 25€/m. The glitter is only on one side of the fabric, the other side is so-called "normal".

Please note that unopened packages have stickers on the surface of the fabric, which can be removed by ironing!

If you buy 5m of the same fabric, you will get the entire package and a discount, meaning you will get exactly 5.486m of fabric for the price of 5 meters.
